Reindeer Herder Rickard Länta describes how forestry and other exploitations affekt reindeer husbandry.
Sweden claims to protect indigenous peoples in other parts of the world but completely ignores the Sami – the European Union’s only recognized indigenous people – in their own country.
Sweden’s priority for Sápmi – the land of the Sami people – is only to extract natural resources from the area, with huge clear-cut forestry and wind farms, a hydropower that does not take any environmental concerns and a lot of gigantic open-pit mines.
Sweden neglects UN declarations of indigenous peoples. It’s a horrible and ugly hypocrisy and an insane and life-threatening behavior, also in view of accelerating climate change.
